Retirement & Living in Costa Rica Book Author, Christopher Howard, National Geographic Consultant
The author, Christopher Howard, is a consultant
for National Geographic in Costa Rica, a columnist for Central
America Weekly newspaper, Costa Rica Outdoors magazine
and the Residents Association of Costa Rica's bimonthly
magazine, El Residente. He is the only author of the many
guidebooks about Costa Rica who actually lives there full-time.
It is not surprising, therefore, that he is
considered one of the foremost experts on all areas of
living and investing in Costa Rica.
Mr. Howard has an extensive language
background, having earned a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American
studies from the University of California at Los Angeles
and a Master of Arts in Spanish from UC Berkeley. In addition,
he has credentials to teach Spanish at all levels from
California State University, San Francisco.
The author has been the recipient of scholarships for graduate studies at the
University of the Americas in Cholula, Mexico and the Jesuit University of
Guadalajara in conjunction with the University of San Diego.
He has authored three foreign language books including
the best-selling Costa Rican Spanish Survival Course. In 1985 he founded a successful language
institute in San José, Costa Rica.
Currently he is busy leading monthly exploratory tours for future residents
of Costa Rica, conducting seminars and working as a paid consultant for people
wanting to relocate, invest or start a business in Costa Rica.
Finally, he is putting the finishing touches on a movie script to be filmed
in Central America.
